Question Diameter? -> Valve Spring Shims (Inserts)

Hey guys, I've been searching all over the forums and internet for the dimensions for valve spring shims (a.k.a inserts), and could use a little help.

From an old Elgin catalog, I am looking at part number VSA303HP -> OD = 1.480", ID = .703", Thickness = .060"

Is that the correct OD and ID? I am running stock Olds 330 #4 heads.

Thanks!

The valve springs are 1.43" OD. Measure the diameter of the factory cups for max OD, and the diameter of the guide bosses for ID. I recommend hardened spring shims or "locators" from Comp Cams, etc. as the spring dampeners cut into soft shims.

Thanks for the measurements, I think the 1.48" ones should work (.050 larger OD), but I was also trying to get the ID dimensions without removing a valve spring from the engine. Worst case, I can do that, but was hoping that someone had a part number or maybe an ID measurement of the guide boss?

Shim under springs. 3x .060 thick shim will do the trick.
