I need a better fan

I have a 1987 Salon with a 355 SBO in it thats built. This engine came out of my wrecked 1985 442.

I had a pickup truck's fan on it at the time yet it was destroyed in the accident.
And I have no records of the part # on file ( this was 10 years ago)

The fan that was destroyed Had very strong suction, yet the stock one I have now is a wuss!

Would anyone have a part # I could check on ?

I might load the car with tools and go to some yards nearby. And see if they have any trucks or vans in them.

Thanks for any help

You need either a factory 6 or 7 blade fan with the extra heavy clutch or the fixed 4 blade fan like the factory fan on my 70.

Does your car overheat or is it just that you don't like the fans on it now?

I seem to remember the Ford Windstar fan is a popular electric fan from the junkyard. I have not used one though.

Do you have the fan shroud and upper and lower air dams installed correctly?

I have several different 6/7 blade fans from various engines that I have removed over the years... I will try to take a few photos this weekend and post them... Possibly one will look like your old fan that was damaged...

Thanks Do they have more blades than a factory 307 style would have?

If you're going through this trouble once, just get a factory Camaro, Windstar, or newer GM truck fan and shroud. There's so much space after you remove the mechanical fan.

Checked my stock and I don't have any 7 blade fans left, mostly all 5-Blades but different styles...
