Timing Set Install

Timing Set Install
Including my son's (DJS70Cutlass, from this forum) car last fall, the topic of "in the car" timing set installations has come up several times.
The photos illustrate the lifting frame that we fabbed up to allow us to lift the front of the engine with the oil pan front seal area open...the photo of the engine mount shows how far the engine had to be raised for pan r&r clearance.

Yeah, this was a sloppy messy job, but well worth doing in the end. No leaks and she run better than it ever has![Big Grin](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
If you notice in the above pic the chain was so loose that I could have taken it off with no tools![EEK!](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
. Didnt find ANY nylon in the pan, so I dont know where that went

Had 166k when we did this last fall, have put 2k on it so far, no problems. And my next step is to get it cleaned up a bit![Embarrassment](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/redface.gif)
The chain was starting to wear into the non nylon coated teeth of the cam gear. The teeth of it are VERY sharp. Really not sure how the chain stayed on seeing as how I put nearly 100 miles on it for a show two months before
