Si I think I'm ready to bite the bullet and order my wheels tonight. But it's a big decision and I'm a little nervous about fitment and look. Nowhere to go locally that can even order the cragars so it has to be online. Summit most likely. Or summit through eBay.

15x8, 5x4.75, 4.5" backspacing with 275/60-15s for the rear
15x7, 5x4.75, 4.0" backspacing with 2??/60-15s for the front.

I want a little meat up front. (other) Eric (Oldcutlass), what wheel/tire combo are you running on your '67 if I may ask? I like that look.

Thats a monster tire for the back wow, I would think that 245-60 15 would be lots and a 235 60-15 front..... JMO Mac !!

I like the 275's on the back, I would go with a 235 on the front, then tweak the suspension so that it rides level........

Thanks for the input fellas. I'll do a little more image searching tonight before I decide. Eric, those fronts are 225s eh? They looked wider but it depends on the picture.

I spent the day torquing the bellhousing bolts, bolting up the headers (after dropping a bolt down into the accumulator), and putting on the starter....twice. Hard to get to the electrical hookups after it's in, for sure.

Yet another oddity. Any idea of the purpose of the zip ties on my fan clutch? It seems to turn smoothly.

Likely they are there because the clutch is shot and was wobbling on its shaft.

I'd take them off, see how it works, and plan on getting a new one.

Anyone happen to know the size of the bolts for this thing? I seem to have misplaced mine. I took it off back when I thought things were going back on the next day

No Justin, they're a tight squeeze but no massaging necessary. Not yet anyway. But I think I have everything bolted on that could be an issue. I'm hoping all the accessory brackets bolt up to the header and intake bolts.
Good to hear from ya brother.

I ordered my Cragars tonight. Very exciting But it will be a couple weeks before they're bolted up. Back-order issues on the 15X8s.
What should I do with my old wheels? I'll have five of them. Is anyone ever interested in 14 inchers?

Finally got the new battery tray installed. Definitely a pain in the behinduss drilling out the old bolts. Oops, guess I took this pic before I was done.

[IMG][/IMG]

Using Eric's pdf timing tape template, I'm applying new marks to the Jeg's inaccurate tape using a sharpie. Only going to use a segment but I hope it sticks. I also hope it's not too glossy for the timing light.

I actually ran into some trouble with the order. Not very happy with Summit. When I ordered they said it would take a week to get the back wheels in and shipped. Pfft, a week. I can do a week. So I ordered. Next day their email said the front wheels shipped but the rears were on back order until August! The guy on the phone was fairly rude about the whole matter so I let home go, called back and got someone a little more helpful. They had to recall the wheels from UPS but I finally got the order cancelled.
Ended up ordering all four (in stock) and the tires and mounting from Newstalgia.com. The fella there was awesome. Should have them this week. Downside side is that they aren't direct drill. But I didn't work this hard for a year to NOT drive the car this summer., lol.

I'm assuming you got the unilug? If they are the unilug Be sure to get the stainless oval washers .1875 (3/16) with the necked back lug nuts and you'll be good Mac. I have the unilugs on my 76 and I haven't had any problems with them. I had them balanced I forget how the called it, but all the weight to the inside of the rim. Just be careful if you are installing them take your time and use both feet under the tire to get it positioned rite. The oval washers will help with that. Re torque after the first few trips but I'm sure you know that already.
Can't wait to see your new pics !!!
Cheers , Eric

Yup, unilug. They're sending everything I need. I'll have a helper with the wheels. Can't do it myself right now. I sorta' bruised a couple ribs bolting up the headers. It was up on jack stands so I had to stand on a milk crate to lean over the engine. Yup, crate slipped out backward and I went down on the fender. I wasn't going to drop the bolts into the collector (again) so I didn't break my fall with my hands. It's not serious, I just can't....you know....breathe

Looking sharp in there, Mac!

Is that battery tray just a bolt in replacement? No welding involved?
