The intake has a lot of chambers, maybe a hookah?

That's actually a pretty cool idea mac. I got an old sbc intake and I do have some old hookah's . The camshaft can make a cool lamp and you can use pushrods to balance it with old rocker bridges under them. Then you can use an aircleaner top for the shade.

You'd make quite an interior decorator Copper. Just fyi, I haven't needed a hooka in something like 20 years. Ahh the good ol' days.

Oh I was quite the hooligan back in the day. Hookahs were but a small part of my indiscretions. But that was long ago. These days I'm lucky to finish a single beer before falling asleep, lol.

Hey Bill, I haven't decided what I'm doing with the parts quite yet but I'll let you know. Either way I think I'm hanging on to the carb. I'll rebuild and keep it for a back up.

It doesn't look like much but a jumbo bottle of dawn and a lot of hot water and that bay is clean! Still have to pull the firewall gizmos and paint but I got a lot done today. 60 degrees out, YES!

He can use either one, but will need a ballast resistor to run points. No big deal.

Since he's setting up his engine with a '68 cam, he may find it easier to tune with the points distributor, and he can always add an electronic pickup later if he wants to.

Yeah, this has become a pretty good walk through for newbies, replete with mistakes and how to fix them.

I am getting ready to complete an engine exchange when my new (reconditioned) one arrives for my 1959 Ninety Eight Coupe. It has a 394ci. The engine will be built and ready to drop in, connect up and run. This is how they leave the builders' shop.

I have removed and replaced engines and gearboxes before on a few cars and they were all Australian cars so this is not a new experience for me. Not that there would be any great difference, however from Oldsmobile enthusiasts out there, any extra little tid bits of info specific for Oldsmobile engines and gearbox that can help would be great.

I have new engine and gearbox mounts arriving soon.

Thank you.

You should post to the "small blocks" forum. You'd get more answers there. I am by no means an expert. This was my first so you have experience on me

This was fun....not! You sure need a lot of room around the bench grinder for these.
Any way to keep these trans lines looking good? Clear coat?

I believe the current terminology is "safer restoration."

... Because no restoration can be completely safe.

This was my project before the cutty. Been at it a few years and still not done. It's a basement projection theater with 5.1 surround.

Nice ! That's pretty bad@$$ . MY basement is slowly turning into a man cave. I scored a big screen tv for free from my dad's boss. Last model hd before flats came out lol. All I need is a couch and I added a few other things and my garage beer fridge is coming downstairs since its taking up valuable real estate in my garage . I just got done fixing the notched floor joist's today wooooo lol. That was not fun. Now its full steam ahead on the room and once the mud work is done the fiancé take care of the painting lol. Then tue. and thu. and sat. starting steady 60 degree weather im helping my neighbor with his 59 ford f100 . The good thing is he is very hands on and wants to do some body work on it himself and some patching. Im always busy lol.

Is it an 800 pound CRT or like an old rear projection? We have a 38" sony trinitron that came with the house. Now I know why. I can't budge the thing. Beautiful picture though.

Lol, I remember that too. We actually bought a house that had that in the basement. I gave Maggie and her best friend a couple of sledge hammers to take care of it. That was my first theater but I hated the house so we fixed 'er up and sold it.
