Olds did use the GM/Chevy inline 6. I did have the same 250ci engine in my Olds Omega.

I’m pretty sure they borrowed Chevy’s 250 6 cylinder in the 60’s.

Thats a very pretty car though.

1966

The Buick V6 was replaced on base models by an Oldsmobile-badged "Action-Line 6" version of Chevrolet's 250 cu in (4.1 L) "Turbo-Thrift" straight-6 engine

That is a nice car. I wonder why they removed the heater? It could be put back in. There are interesting intake manifolds, multi carbs, 4bbls etc, including a Brazilian factory MPFI intake for the chebby straight 6.

As noted, in the 1960s and 70s Oldsmobile used six cylinder engines sourced from other GM divisions, the Buick V6 in 1964-65 and again starting in the mid-70s and the Chevy inline six in 1966-71 and again in the mid-70s. Olds did build it's own unique six cylinder engines over the years, but not in those years. The Oldsmobile flathead six was made from 1923 to 1950. The V6 diesel was made from 1982-85. The "Shortstar" DOHC V6 in the Intrigue and second gen Aurora was made from 1999-2002.

Just an FYI, Most 66 Cutlass with the 6 cylinder got the plastic inner fenders. At one time those were desirable for the 66.

Heater was an option in gm cars in the 60's. You do not need heat in Columbia. . As noted, heat and defrost can be added

Actually, heaters were standard equipment. Heater delete was a $71.50 credit option available under RPO C48 through the 1968 model year. This appears to be a factory heater delete car from the shape of the cover plate.

I should add that there's a whole lot of non-factory stuff going on with that car, so who knows how it left the factory.
