1956 Oldsmobile 98 Master Cylinder

I have just received a 1956 Oldsmobile Holiday 98. I was going through the regular maintenance. The car has been sitting for about 4 years. The brakes were drained, all fluids replaced. The engine and transmission run perfect! It has the Rocket V8 and the Hydro-Matic transmission. the problem is the brakes. I went to fill up the brake fluid and the stem that holds the dip stick and attaches to the master cylinder broke off. It looks to be a pressure fitting. Any one have suggestions on how to fix? Can JB weld work? How hard is it it to replace the master cylinder? Is there some other plug to use.
Thank you in advance.

Any Help is greatly appriciated.
Joe

I rebuilt my master cylinder and got the kit from Fusick.com. It is pretty simple to get the master cylinder off . I would give them a call .
