olds 307 timing marks

Hey everyone,

Recently I replaced the ti$ing chain in my 83 lesabre's 307. It went well. +,ly problem is I found the owner before me had also done it, but neglected to bolt the timing marker tab back to the front of the engine, so I cannot time the engine.. I have checked junkyards, and online and no luck. Does anyone know where I could find the part? Thanks!

You might want to avoid that vendor that redog linked to

I have lots of used ones if that will do for you.

Balancer OD has two options, therefor two types of plastic timing tab.

Here is the difference between the plastic tab for larger OD harmonic damper balancer and smaller OD balancer w/o harmonic damper ring.

These plastic tabs were used in the smogger era, not sure exactly when they started, probably around the semi-metric era, 1977 or so, thru the end of the iron block Olds V8.

Not they are both supposed to have the metal washer insert at the top hole, but the "large" unit shown has a common flaw- the insert has come out.
