Oil galley plugs
I've searched high and low for instructions on installing the oil galley plugs in my 70 350????? Anyway 1st pic is the set I bought at Summit.....I got my block back with all three oil galley plugs missing....I even called my machinist and said they normally send back to me....long gone? The kit has 2 screw in plugs which fit left front and right rear...then a steel freeze plug /style that seems to want to fit in right front threaded hole(pic 2)......is this correct or should I purchase a treaded plug??? Can't find locally and Dick Miller want's 91$ for the 2 front plugs...LOL!!! Also is this the one that you drill a hole in for timing chain lubrication? .040 hole? My machinist says I don't need any holes in any plugs???So on the rear.....No plug was in the kit for the left rear and I know I need hole.040 to lube dist gear....I can't seem to locate this plugs locally either.......Any help with this would be really appreciated!

The outside plugs need to be sealed or you'll have oil everywhere.
The galley plug inside that is in front of the distributor gear is the one that needs to have the .040 hole in it to lubricate the cam and distributor gears.

You need part numbers PP-40 and GP-200. Part number GP-200 will only fit one way, due to the different sized threaded holes.

Inline Tube sells the correct front screw in plugs for cheap. They are two different sizes so you can't swap them. They are also straight cut threads unlike that pipe plug you have in there. Take it out! Passenger side plug will have an oil hole for the timing chain.
The rear cup plug is 19/32 or 21/32. I can't remember off the top of my head. I'd have to go out into the garage to look at my pack of them. Can get them at NAPA easily.

As mentioned, you can hardly mess up the front due to their differing sizes. The LH aft is frequently replaced with a solid plug by the unaware because it comes in the kit, the hole is not noticed in the old one, and "NEW IS ALWAYS BETTER" [no, it's not...]

Sucks, I have TWO engines that I have to pull these plugs on and make
the spit holes. 5/16 square inverted plugs suck too. I did find the tool available
at Napa, $6.50. Should be here Sat. On a positive note, my 406768 cam came in.

Thank you all....I think I got it now......Just ordered the 4pc engine block plug #10823 kit from Inline Tube.....couldn't find on website, so had to call($24 shipped to MD)......hopefully I get the right parts? My last order from them was all wrong

Any way to recap......Install internal rear plug dry at dist gear with .040 hole.....install freeze plug at access hole with rtv.......install cam freeze plug with rtv....install pass side screw in plug from summit with rtv Rear done
Install both front screw in plugs from inline tube dry...pass side should have hole in it......throw away the small freeze plug from summit kit.........sound right?

Sounds ok but I'm not a fan of RTV anywhere near an oiling system. Pipe plugs get tighter as you sock them down so the chance of leaking is minimal. For cup plugs I typically use Permatex #2 on the sealing edge.
