Oil Filter Base Question

Does anyone know where to find a stock replacement for a oil filter base that attaches to the motor or the proper way to clean it. Its the piece that the oil filter screws onto. The one that came off the motor was pretty nasty and I didn't want to take a chance of it being clogged up since I just rebuilt the motor. I believe this is the last piece I need to put back on the motor before I drop it back in the car.

Thanks, Mike

A submersion soak in carburetor cleaner will do fine. Inspect the relief valve and spring closely to make sure it pops open and reseats correctly.

Follow it up with a few blasts of brake cleaner and the adapter/relief valve should be ready to run.
