No oil pressure

I am working on a1964 cutlass convertible. I inherited this project started 20+ years ago by a friend. The 330 engine was rebuilt and in the chassis. I decided to build oil pressure and crank the engine plugs out before starting it.After running the drill a short time I had 3 or more quarts of oil on the garage floor. Pulled the transmission and found the cam galley threaded plug and the welch plug missing. I think my find disconnected the think it through process. Quickly installed the two plugs and reassembled everything. Then started engine, No oil pressure. I now think the welch plug on the drivers side of the engine block was an access plug that gives access to a thread plug foward of the welch plug. Can someone who's been there done that confirm my now revelation. IS THERE A THREADED PLUG ON THE ENGINE LEFT SIDE IN FRONT OF THE WELCH PLUG?

The plug under the freeze plug has the 0.040" hole to provide lube to the distributor gear. Once again, it pays to read the Chassis Service Manual.

Thank you Joe and everyone who replied. I do have all 5 of the factory service manuals and had tried to find information in them. I am going to try again. I'm sure the plug is missing, will get one and drill the .040 hole.
