Remove the air cleaner from your carb, look down the throat and see if it squirts 2 solid streams of fuel when you operate the throttle linkage. If not a good stream then replace the accelerator pump. Are your vacuum secondaries opening properly if you have a 4v carb? Is the choke releasing when the engine warms?

If it's not the carburetor then perform the following:

Well I believe it would be time to start from scratch. Check your tuneup parts, points, plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. Replace if it has been awhile since your last tuneup. Also replace your fuel filter. You may have 2 as some put one in line, and the one in the carb.

Set your dwell @ 30 (this is very important), and your timing around 10-12 deg BTDC with vacuum advance disconnected and plugged.

Then check your vacuum mechanical advance by reving the engine and it should move up to around 34-36 @ 2500 - 3000 rpm.

Then plug your vacuum advance back in. And make sure it operates, rev the engine back up to 2500 - 3000 rpm and it should be somewhere around 50 Btdc.

Once you get that set adjust your carb a/f mixture screws for the either the highest rpm or the highest vacuum.

In addition, you have a switch pitch trans (variable vane torque converter), it has an electric kickdown switch that operates passing gear and the torque convertor solenoid. You might want to also make sure this is working properly also. We can go into this if the above does not correct your problem.
