Help identify Quadrajet

Help identify Quadrajet

I found a Quadrajet carb in the trunk of a car I bought and can’t figure out what its for, any help?

Well, most of the time they get it correct - sometimes the information is a bit generic, but a fast Google search demonstrates it was employed 86-90 on Chev BOP 305/307.

17083253 is for a 1983 Oldsmobile 307 with CCC only. The carbs on the Chevy 305 were similar but used a side inlet, not a front inlet. Chevy carbs of that vintage end in numbers like 206, 208, 210. The "1708" indicates the decade of the 1980s. The "3" indicates the specific year (1983). The "253" indicates the application (Oldsmobile 307 with CCC). The CCC carbs of the 1980s were similar but not identical nor even swappable from year-to-year. The big difference (aside from metering rods) is the two-point vs three-point adjustment on the mixture control solenoid armature.
