HEI Ignition

Looking for a clearance question to be answered, I was thinking of going with the large HEI ignition on a 350 Oldsmobile Cutlass 1968 convertible, is there enough clearance between the distributor and firewall? after the engine is installed can I remove the distributor or is it to tight?

The air cleaner is a bigger problem than the firewall. Of course you may be using an aftermarket air cleaner. Be sure you put it in so the vacuum advance doesn't hit the firewall. It is a tight fit but it will work.

X2 on what Red said. I would stab the distributor after the engine is installed to prevent damage to it.
