Heater Hose Size?

Hello All,

I'm replacing the water pump on my '72 Supreme, 350ci. with A/C. I need to replace the heater hose that runs from the water pump back to the heater core. Can anybody tell me what size that is? The car is in storage and I'd like to pick up some hose on my way home from work tomorrow. I think it's either 5/8" or 3/4" but I'm not even sure if it's the bigger one or the smaller one.

So what size would connect to the water pump? Rough idea on length? I'm thinking maybe 5 feet? I think it's the same diameter hose as the bypass hose (from thermostat housing to water pump) as both fittings on the water pump look the same.

Thanks!

I replaced my hoses this spring ,the top hose from the heater core to the top of the water pump is 3/4" hose and the bottom heater core hose to the back of the intake is 5/8" hose, those measurements are from the inside of the hose, not the outside.I bought my two hoses from a local parts store in a bulk pack for like $20,I had leftover amounts but I figured I could use as much or as little as I needed to route the hose where I wanted. Also I didn't use any kind of sealant anywhere but just cleaned the fittings well of the old hoses with emery cloth and wiped them clean before installing the hoses, hasn't leaked at all.

I was thinking it was the larger of the 2 hoses which would be 3/4", so that makes sense. Thanks so much for the info!
