How to connect heater hose? 67 400

Got a spiffy new heater hose from Fusick (67 442 400).

Any suggestions on how it connects to the heater end?

It has a big 'collar' around it, that appears to be glued to the end (edit: I don't think it is glued, it is just heckaciously tight....). Perhaps this is insulation on the heater end. please don't tell me i need to pull heater from inside and then run the hose out the firewall.

Can it be forced up in there with that collar?

Any help?

Dan

The foam will slide down to protect the hose from the bracket on the engine. You still need a clamp for the heater core connection.

next question: anybody got a picture of the bracket that would be involved?

Thanks,

I can see the bracket in my minds eye and it is the alternator bracket; as the hose passes over the bracket the collar is to protect it from abrasive and hostile activity as the motor wiggles and jiggles

Thanks! Got a long way to pull that sucker, based on that.... for time being, I've got it back at the A/C-valve cover area.

Bad looking ride!!!
