From what I hear any off the shelf header should work fine but you may have to eff with the transmission linkage.

Have not found a header over the last 30 years that didn't work in this application, not even the dreaded offset engine Supremes! Just kidding - the offset thing is bovine excrement. Used Hedman's back in the day, Hookers in modern times, no clearance issues. I have not heard of issues w/ other brands either.

That is not to say it couldn't happen if you are @ the wrong end of too many variables but even then it would probably just be a dimple needed in #7 tube.

You get what you pay for. The cheaper units don't fit as well as some of the better quality units but they all fit with minor interference issues. You may need or want to relocate the brake proportioning block to the top of the frame. Some headers have slightly better ground clearance than others as well, the better units have a better overall fit. Do some Googling and you will see several of the brands listed. Then call the tech line. Hooker seem to be the favorite.

OK. Well at least I'm ahead of the brake part of it because when I rebuilt the brake system I moved the block up off frame for easier access to it next time. So that's good at least........those flow techs are tempting price wise but I definitely think I'll end up with Hedmans or Hookers.

I bought a set of Heddman headers for my 71 98 with a 455. I got the powder coated ones. They were more expensive than the normal steel ones but I'm happy with them. Of course, I didn't have as many options since I have a C body. You migth consider Doug's headers:

I've only heard good things about them. Plus, I've used a Pertronix ignition kit before and it is an excellent product.

The best cheap headers are blackjack's from dynomax. I have had the same setfor 7 years. No leaks no issues. I did however re coat them 2 seasons ago with vht header paint and it's still holding up

I have a set of Hooker ceramic coated headers on my 70 S 350. Part #3901-1. Had them for about 6-7 years now and no issues.
