Engine oil

Oils to use with flat tappet cams.
You will want to use an oil with Zinc, There are some better than others. Summit Racing sells there own brand of oil with 10w30 5w30 10w40 and 15w40 There is also Royal Purple and Amsoil. Those are probably the best ones to use. My Opinion I use the Royal Purple in my 1968 Olds 350 with a Hydralic cam. Works great. Alittle pricey at 7.99 a quart. But cheaper than going to a roller cam set-up. hope this helps.

I prefer to oil all my engines with baby seal blood.
FWIW, I also use Rotella T 15W-40. You can get it really cheap at Sam's Club.

Here are some good threads about oil. Our older cars need zinc to help protect the non-roller cam parts. Easiest and cheapest solution would be a diesel engine oil.
