EMERGENCY: booby traps in stolen car
The oil filler neck is in the timing cover so if you found dirt/rocks in the oil you drained out and the engine was never turned over, they poured a LOT of dirt in there. That means there is dirt and rocks lodged in the timing chain set that would be hard to rinse out, If it were mine, it would have the the water pump, timing cover, and oil pan taken off and pressure clean the bottom end of the engine. The bearings and oiling system should be fine as long as you know it was never turned over. Someone that devious might know how to turn the engine over by hand. The carb should be checked with a bright light and if there is even dust under the throttle plates, the carb, intake, and heads would come off. If dirt was poured down the carb and a single intake valve is open it would be almost impossible to get it all out. A blow nozzle through the spark plug holes might work. Then again, it might not. It only costs a gasket set to take it all a part and put it all back together knowing it is clean. With a little inginuity it can all be done with the engine still in the car, but always better safe than sorry if it has already been compromised.
You may not mean this the way that you sound like you mean this, but DO NOT pressure wash an assembled engine (or any other assemblies).
Pressure washing will drive dirt and grit into small spaces, like bearings, where it will destroy them, even if the parts were not that dirty to start with.
You can pressure wash with everything apart, but NOT with any parts together.

WELL I guess that's gonna be OK, the members here advised I change the timing set and we already have one, just wanted to save it for the w31 style rebuild.
I PROBABLY wouldn't haul a pressure washer under a car lol, seems like a lot of work.
Once u see interior pics, you'll probably stop thinking they were astute enough to have brought the tools to turn the car over, looks like they did it all w a screwdriver and a hammer!

OK so in for a penny, in for a pound. Cam will be ground 212/212 .460 110 LSA w a new roller timing set and lifters. Also milling the heads .050 to compensate for the feel pro gasket height (and then some) leaving me with about a 58cc chamber on 4 heads.
Oh I knew I forgot something, they are gonna weld in some exhaust divider plates I'm working on before they mill em. The plan is to slot the divider area and make a tab out of scrap to slide in. Then they tack it in place. Sound OK?
