Distributor gear for roller cam??

Distributor gear for roller cam??
I am thoroughly confused about which distributor gear to use with my Lunati hydraulic roller cam. Lunati recommends a bronze gear, but I've read these will wear out quickly. As this will be a daily driver engine so bronze is not an option. Also, my Accel distributor has a .500" shaft diameter and the Lunati gear is .491" (I guess I could drill out the gear to fit the larger shaft). Mark (CutlassEFI) suggested a composite gear, but I can't find anybody that makes one for Olds. I've also read on the web (so it must be true-right?) that I could send the cast gear that came on the Accel distributor out to be hardened (nitrited - I think) to work with SADI cores. This will save me the trouble of drilling out a gear to fit the Accel distributor shaft, but will this really work? How do I know if my cam is a SADI core? I might also have the gear coated with PolyDyne to keep it well lubricated but I'm guessing that's not enough by itself. I certainly don't want to F-up a $400 camshaft.

Accel distributor shaft .492"
I pulled the gear off the Accel distributor last night and the shaft measured .492" diameter. I got the .500" number off the Summit website, that'll teach me to trust the Web - LOL. Mark, Please get me the correct number for the Mallory composite gear. Thanks!
