Dip Stick Troubles
Dip Stick Troubles
OK, so this is a stupid question, but I am at my wits end.
After putting this back together, I am having problems with the dip stick. It is too loose. Last year or so, after installing headers I removed the OEM dip stick and installed a chrome Summit unit. It seemed to fit fine. This winter I removed the engine did a few upgrades. After reinstalling the engine, I did the headers; go to put the dip stick in and it just slides right in, no resistance.
I figure I must have "stretched" the bums out when I removed it, so I order two more from Summit, a Summit one and a Specter one, (BTW they are exactly the same just one was $11.95 the other $12.95) both of them do the same thing?? What am I missing?
Just pulling out the dip stick pulls out the tube, it will not stay put.

As always, Thanks for the help....

What I did with headers installed was put a metal tube clamp around the tube and use the closest header bolt to secure the tube and voila...
adjust the hole size in the clamp to fit the header bolt...
