coolant leak at front lower

thought the water pump was leaking. Removed everything and got to the pump. At the front of the water pump nothing seems to be leaking there. At the bottom of the crank where there's a seal it seems to be dripping from there. Would this be a front seal? Meaning having to remove the crank pulley. there is a cover around that .... can that seal maybe be bad? Can this be replaced without removing the crank pulley? 1967 f85 with straight 6 250

There is a vent along the shaft of the water pump, and when the bushing inside starts to leak it comes out that vent and in your case drips on the crank.

Thank you much. My other research shows there is no coolant that could leak from Crank area. I am in process of replacing water pump...hopeful that solves the problem.

Water can leak from the crank seal. However if this is happening there are far worse things happening than just the water pump.

What would that/they be? There is 25,000 original miles on car/engine. All original parts are there, including date coded spark plug wires. The oil has no milky look or feel, and is clean as can be, so I don't think there is a head gasket issue. where the coolant is leaking, it is green/yellow and clean, and does appear to have anything else mixed in...like oil, or other fluids. It runs like a top, and has no other issues except this recent leak. Would you suggest I continue with pump replacement, or try something else?

What I was trying to say is it can happen, but you don't have that issue. Since the oil is clean, I'd just change the water pump.
