Hi everyone! What do I need to cap off and how would I go about doing it- I am not planning on immediately hooking up my a/c system. I am not going to install the compressor roght now so I'd like to cap all the oil/fluid lines that run to/from the a/c heater box. Is this possible? Would the electric still get hooked up as normal other than to the absent compressor? Any precautions I need to take? What types of caps should I use? Thank you,
Chris

Mine was removed when I bought the car back in 1994, it was left open so the damage was done. Moisture and crud gets in the system. So when I finally got it going again I replaced most all of it. If you think you will be putting it back on someday why not just leave it on and keeping it sealed? I suppose if you really need it all out of the way then try to make some caps or plugs but I have no idea if you could get something like that... The electric part you should be able to leave, I would just coil up the wire that went to the compressor clutch and make sure it doesn't get damaged or grounded out.

You might visit the plumbing section to find some fittings. I did that years ago. As a result of father time, I have no idea what sizes you'll need. A quick glance with a tape measure might be helpful though it might involve two trips to said store.

Get some large heat shrink tubing and some old inner tube rubber. Cut the rubber so it goes over the end of the hose or fitting with a flap that can be enshrouded in the heat shrink when its slipped over it. Shrink the tubing.

That’s a great idea!
