Alternator belt alignment

Hello,
I need some advice on the alternator belt alignment,
is OK from the water pump, but is skewed off the pulley that
is on the power steering reservoir. There doesn't seem to be any adjustment
I can do with the alternator or it's brackets, any advice appreciated.
It must have been running like this for some time,

regards, Cus

While it will probably function that way, I doubt that it was built that way. Most likely somebody changed something and put something that wasn't quite right.

I agree, looks shonky,
I think it will put stress on the belt & Alternator pulley bearing etc.

I agree that it looks as though the power steering pump is properly lined up, but I would double check it very carefully, as it is very commonly misaligned, because people take it apart and don't reassemble it with the proper spacers.

If the P/S pump is, in fact, aligned properly, then you have to take a very close look at all of the attachments of the alternator brackets, to be sure that all are attached to teh right parts of the engine.

It would also help to have several more photos of the belts, alternator, and brackets, so that we can see the situation better.
It may be possible that someone used the wrong top bracket and somehow got it to fit.
I just can't tell from your picture.

Is this for a '73 Delta? What type of engine?

looks like the p/s pump stand to long out, is it possible to adjust it more in to the pump?

And how Long is your waterpump?

In the upper left pic it looks like the alt is aligned with the pulley but the p/s looks skewed. As mentioned there are spacer washers that if left out will pull the whole p/s assembly too far in to the block. Do you have a Olds manual or assembly manual for your car? I'll bet there is a exploded view in the book. My guess is someone left out a spacer.

Thanks everyone for this great info.
The P/s pump pulley is definitely the culprit.
It looks like someone has left out the thick washer behind the bracket
where the adjusting bolt goes into the pump. I'll back off all the bolts &
hopefully be able to slide a washer behind , with the bolt out, this should
push the pulley back a bit to square it up "hopefully".

There is supposed to be a thick spacer behind the bracket that attaches to the block just above the oil pan. The rear most bolt on that lower bracket. There is also supposed to be a hex spacer for the lower bolt where it attaches to the timing tab indicator, or it is a special bolt.

OK, put spacer behind the adjusting bolt, thick washer about 3mm,
made a big difference, pulling the pulley back some. The belts are now pretty
good, but not perfect. The p/s pump doesn't seem to be parallel to the bracket, having one bolt at the top & one at the bottom & being offset to
the pulley wheel, I don't think it's a great set-up, but I think it will be OK.
If the pump craps itself, I'll pull the whole lot out & get it right,
