advancing stock cam timing 350 olds
My 1977 oldsmobile cutlass is leaking a bit around the front of the oil pan so im going to go ahead and regasket the pan and timing cover and figured id go ahead and put a timing set in it. In the past ive bought timing sets for small block chevys and advanced the stock cam timing and it really seemed to give it a lot of torque and throttle response. My father said this was do to cam timing being retarded for emissions on emissions era vehicles. I always set my aftermarket cams straight up but stock in chevys I went what was 8 degrees advances I believe. Would this have the same effect on my stock 1977 oldsmobile 350 with headers?
