350 heads

I have an original 69 350 with terrible heads. I had them checked and I need valves, guides seats and the works. They are 64cc #5. They were shot.
I need some used heads. Can I use a mid 70's 403 or a 350 heads. This will give me hardened seats. I'm going back with flat top pistons and I'm looking for a small cc head for more compression and ability to burn unleaded gas.
Also I'm looking for a hi torque cam that's not too extreme but still gives ma good sound and low torque.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME?

403 heads on a 350 will drop the compression so low the engine would probably run on kerosene. Don't use them. Find a set of 7A or something in that family. Changing the pistons is a good idea to up the compression. Contact Smitty or one of the other good builders for cam recommendations.

I can help with the cam when you're ready.
Which "flat top" piston are you using? With a stock 7a head you'll have over 10.0:1 with the true flat top. More info would help. Thanks!

As others have stated, flat top pistons and older 350 heads will get you 10 to 1 Cr. With that much compression, you won't be able to run a mild cam on pump gas. Are you boring and rebuilding with new pistons? If so, which ones? Also, head chamber sizes vary, so you need to measure them (whichever you decide to use) and factor that into the calculations to determine the true CR.
