An Edelbrock Performer RPM is a good streetable intake for the SBO. Alot of people on Classicolds are fans of Quadrajets. I also like Edelbrock carburetors.

Could you discuss the differences between the Performer and Performer RPM specifially relating to the street? In this application, will he sacrifice low end torque at low RPMs to get up and go? Without a cam upgrade is this a solid performance upgrade with the quadrajet?

I have only heard that the Performer RPM is better than the Performer. Supposedley the Performer is just an aluminum copy of the stock intake. I have no first hand experience with either one of these applications. If you are going to change the intake and carb, I would suggest upgrading the cam as well. It isn't that difficult to do and will give a great improvement in driveabiliy and "get up and go."

Let me first state that I don't know what the cam/Cr specs are on the 330. If it is a high comp engine, the RPM might be better. Also, this,
"Supposedley the Performer is just an aluminum copy of the stock intake" gets posted quite often. The two are not identical, different designs. I can't say that the Performer is better or worse, but they are not the same. I did a non scientific experiment on my 9 to 1 355. You can read it here if you like;

Basically, the RPM was faster, but the Performer quicker. I just got tired of guys saying that the RPM was always the better choice. Like everything, it depends on the application.
