Welcome. The Rover V8s are externally identical to the BOP 215 motors, so yes they will bolt in. There are many internal differences, including the fact that the later Rover motors don't use a distributor. I've got a 4.6 Rover short block to go into my 62 F-85 wagon. All intake and exhaust ports are the same, so manifolds interchange. Go to britishv8.org for more info.

The later Rover motors have the oil pump on the front of the crank, so the cover and pump need to be swapped as a unit. There are too many permutations to list here. Again, go to britishv8.org and you'll find all this info.

As for injection, the simplest is the most expensive - a modern aftermarket self-learning throttle body. You can adapt the Rover unit, but you'll want an aftermarket ECU, not the original one, and thus you'll be building your own harness. If that daunts you, stick to a carb.

British SD1 Rovers had Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, a simple and reliable system used by many European makers.
But it is long out of production now, and i don't know if it was used much in North America. Perhaps getting a Range Rover engine complete with wiring harness would be your best bet.

Roger.

Actually, if you just want to put EFI on the 215, there are folks who've adapted GM TBI units for TR8s. You can get the .BIN file with the fuel and spark map on line if you use the stock '7747 ECU and just burn a new PROM. You can still score the parts from a 305 pickup at a wrecking yard for not too much money.

Dunno where you are located but here is a 215 Olds with Rover trans on Craigslist in Albuquerque. Doesn't say if it is FI or not.
