1966 Cutlass engine belts for 330

In the spring my 66 Cutlass vert with a 330 engine will need new belts. Its a power steering only engine. Two belts accordingly. My assembly manual calls for a power steering belt 382644 with a 59.50 belt length. The alternator belt calls for 382616 with a a length of 49.62. I need a suggestion for replacement belts that have stock outside face look and satisfy the install. No rush just need some excellent selections. Should be no problem to install I would think.

Most you'll find now will be cogged belts which work great, just don't have the look some of us want.

Since you have the specified lengths, visit a NAPA or Federated parts store and see if they have an old fashioned belt length gage. Then see what non-cogged belts they have in the lengths you need. If you're lucky enough to have the old belts you can use that belt gage to match length to what was on it.

I think those belt gage tools are still made. Saw an awfully new looking one in Tractor Supply when I went after a lawnmower drive belt a couple weeks ago.

You may be able to get cog free belts from and industrial bearing/belting supplier in your town. Just bring them in and have them match them up.

Joe, are the belts used on my application supposed to be 7/16 (.4375) or 1/2 (.500) wide? What is common these days 7/16 or 1/2?

Thanks
Wayne
