poor mans vette

Not mine! C.L. find. I have seen this many times at Lansing area car shows and i believe that it has showed at homecoming.

Mid engine Olds powered and other pieces.

Hey Pat,
I know that car and used to know the owner (Russ ?). I worked with him at Lansing small car. He moonlighted with Bill Porterfield at the Kelmark car company. He used a toronado drivetrain with shortened axles to supply the power to the rear wheels.
The car should have a fuel cell up front, he was always worried about rupturing the fuel tank in a front end crash. The car was built from spare parts from other projects that he had over the years. The car was fully designed in 3D Cad before any modifications were made.

Yep, I used to run across Bill every once in while in the late 90's early 2000's. I believe he was getting shed of most of Olds stuff then.

FYI for people who don't know he was one the people who was running the Oldsmobile historical center in downtown Lansing when it was open.

Reminds me of a joke played on me back in the early 80's. A Mexican friend came over to me and said he bought a shiney red 76 Vette. I was shocked and awed at his statement and he said come on out to the parking lot and I'll show you. We went out and he pointed and said how do you like my Vette, its a SHe - Vette!
