Can anyone tell me what brand booster this is?

Looks to be a Moraine if it is all cast iron. But It doesn't really mater because a Treadle-Vac will not support a modern disk brake system. Give this guy a call before you spend your money.... Tedd....http://www.discbrakemike.com

I will look into it Tedd. Thanks. They asked me if it was Bedix or Delco. They claim their booster and disc Assy is direct bolt on. Is it possible the vac from their system doesn’t use the treadle vac?

As far as know 58's never came with a Delco master only Bendix and Moraine units. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure I'm correct on this.
I certainly would double check on this. I'm sure I would have herd if there was a easy conversion, this has been a issue for years on the mid fifties cars. Not only Oldsmobile's but many other makes of cars that used the Treadle Vac.
Most have to replace the swing peddle system move the new master to the firewall after bracing up the firewall with a plate or something so the action of the peddle is pushing in the correct direction for the new master to work. The treadle-Vac works A$$ backwards compared to the newer master booster combos. Check out Disk Brake Mike's web site. Good Information there.... Let us all know if I'm all wet on this, many would be happy if Kanter has something new on the market.... Tedd

No, that's fine. I was just curious. I looked on Kanters site, and they list a complete disc setup for my 47 including MC, but they don't list just the MC setup. I already have the front discs because I swapped a whole front suspension in, but would love to know who makes just the MC setup for it!

Just a nomenclature issue I think. Delco presumably means Delco-Moraine, named for the Delco brake division in Moraine, OH (Dayton) at one time and one of many Delco divisions in Dayton. They made brake components there until Delco was spun into Delphi and sold off but I have lost track of where that business ended up (if it still exists).

It worked out well. A few minor issues. The calipers were rubbing slightly on the rims. Had to shave off an edge. They sent the wrong proportioning valve. And the brake light switch had to be modified. My friend owns a Transmission Shop and he did all the work for me but he said it wasn’t to bad. Overall it works well.
