I haven't been here in a while but now I need some assistance.
I have a 70 442 with a 455 that I have to remove the heads and it has power brakes.
I can not get the last left push rod out because of the booster. Is there a secret way to remove the two lower bolts that hold the booster to the firewall? I can get the top but the lower ones are a pain.
Thanks,
Joe
When I replaced the booster on my 71, I used an open end wrench, reached behind the booster, and turned the nut about 1/8 turn at a time. I had to keep switching ends of the wrench as I turned the nut. It was a PITA to get the nuts off.
I'm at a loss here. I replaced the head gaskets on my 70 455 Cutlass with power brakes right on the car and never had a problem with a push rod. What am I missing?
