JM40 Camshaft Quandry

Well guys, in purchasing a 350 to build up, I ended up with a JM 40 mechanical camshaft. The guy I bought the motor from thought he was going to use it in the 350 (wow). The specs on it are .562 .594 lift, 264 271 duration @ .050 and 108 deg LSA. I have no use for it and its just taking up room on my bench. If anyone could use it, let me know! If you have something interesting to trade, I like vintage gauges, racing stuff, vintage tools and diagnostic equipment. Hopefully one of you will be able to use this cam. The only catch is I want to see pics of what it goin in!

I could probably use it as a spare..........we are currently using an Engle/Mondello MP 28-29 which is almost identical to the JM 40.

How much do you want for it ?

Thanks, Dave Moon

P.S. As for what it would be used in..........either of the cars you see in our Signature/Avatar

Too big for a 350? Gee, it's too small for my 1966 400. lol. Seriously, what rpm range do you have in mind for your 350? Is it going to be a serious racer? It probably is bigger than ideal, but it would be fun.

It is a used cam, but looks good with little wear. If you are still interested, I was looking to get $50 out of it. Hottrod, if you want it, pm me your email address and I can send you close up pictures.

And Run, it would be pretty radical, but I am planning on street driving the car with weekend fun at the strip. Brakes need a little vacuum! lol

Here are a couple of pics of our yellow car, it is a back-halved 4-link car, weight is 2700lbs. with a 8.50 NHRA cert. chassis. It is presently powered by a very mild BBO, and runs in the mid 10 sec. range. Future plans are to replace the BBO with a KB Olds DRCE motor that we have in the works.GBMAug212011110_2.jpg

Yes it was originally constructed/owned by Dave Engle,.......... we bought it about a year and a half ago from Travis Knowlton.

Very nice looking car.

Good Luck with switch to DRCE power.

You probably know Todd Richards, he might be helpful from a technical standpoint when you make the change.

Thanks for posting pics.
