Roll pins in pushrods?

One thing I have noticed a couple times is some people suggested using a small roll pin in the bottom of your pushrod as an alternative to the oil restricting ones available. To me, this seems like a bad idea, because in all my years of farming I know that roll pins will inevitably break or fall out. Has anyone used this or had any success? Maybe horror stories?

Thanks much.

I agree. If you need restricted pushrods, buy them. Stuffing anything in pushrods usually ends in the stuffee coming out later. If the lifters are correct, metering oil as they should, you don't need them. Generic Chevy lifters are the usual problem with low oil pressure.

Saw a guy use pipe cleaners in the pushrods. Worked but after a while the "fuzzies" started going thru the engine.
