The Carter mechanical fuel pump won't keep up with my new 358. I went to use an old Holley that I don't think I ever used. The 63 psi 350 LPH in tank pump pushed it to 15 psi on the lowest setting. Looking for good regulator that doesn't cost a fortune. Thanks in advance. Here is how I set up the 20 year old Holley regulator.
Basically looking at the Holley, AEM and Spectre which looks identical to the AEM but slightly cheaper. All the same style as the one I just installed.
It seems like it'd be real tough to drop fuel pressure that much (and keep it consistent) without a return line.
Exactly why I might try dual regulator. Too bad there isn't real estate for a RobMc fuel pump with these heads. I don't know how the Chinese 80 gph fuel pumps perform in the real world, they have worked fine on Cutlassefi's dyno. I know I bought one years ago and never used it. I will do some searching around. Maybe it is hidden in a corner of the shop. I also did find the suction line, the clamp had bottomed out and wasn't super tight. Might not have caused an issue. I added washers to that clamp and added a second clamp since 63 psi pushing through that line.
