The ad for Headers by Ed with Branded in photo is correct. Owner/driver Rich Anderson, Builder Bob Fuller. Bob Fuller is now owner of C & F Race Cars 7101 143rd Ave NW, Ramsey, Minnesota 55303 763)712-8456 for more info. Car was a 400 motor, came with Ram Air( They did not use it so I put it on my 1966 442). I think it was the rare 325Hp/ask Bob. Ran the Cyclone headers until Bob built Ed Headers for it. Note Ed decals on other photos. Bob worked at Headers By Ed. Ed and Bob would tailor headers for each car. Longer/shorter primaries/tube size. Rich drove the car , Ran 12:20s, few times under. Was on National record at the time. Can't remember class, they ran it in 72 as well, took to National meet in Calif. Pulled the wheels no problem. Was 4 spd with ratchet shifter. Poor photo on ad looks like headlight covers but wasn't. I believe Bob could drive lower Ets..But Rich owned the car...so! Bob Could/can TUNE and build!!!! With just Cyclones, slicks & super tuning, my 66 442 with JETAWAY trans 3:08 rear ran 13:91. Later Ram air/no choke plate/filter good for additional .2 No choke or filter on carb when 20 below zero,Kennedy Bell carbs said good for couple Hp) starting fluid was best friend after Bob....street racing in middle of winter as summer was a way of life in Mn. Blew the motor while beating 428 Mustang in winter! Everyone should have a friend like Bob Fuller at some time of your life.

I remember both of these cars coming to Huntsville and other ORSCA tracks.. Too bad the organization went defunct. Do those two guys still race that you know of? I haven't seen them locally in a few years.

High School Days at the AHRA Winternationals-1977

Picture of my car leaving the line at the the Winternationals in Tuscon AZ in 1977. I was a Junior in High School at the time.
Me and a buddy of mine painted it in one weekend at the tune up shop I worked in. We were so proud of it then, looks a little different now. We just had to use all the "tricks" we knew and it looks it.

My first time at the line it was just practice runs but I came up against Pro Stocker Dick Landy. They ran a standard light since it was practice and I was so nervous being up against him and all the people in the stands watching my foot slipped off the clutch during the tree run and I beat the Pro Stock Driver off the line! I was so shocked I almost forgot to shift into 2nd. After we got back to the pits, Dick Landy came up to me and shook my hand for the start. I'll never forget the big old cigar sticking out of his mouth when he talked to us.

Great memories.

The night shot of the Edmunds '65 442 really hits home with me. One of the tracks my dad took me to as a kid (1965) looked very much like that track and the cars we went to watch, Anderson Olds' car ( a red '65 442 post) and City Olds' ( a green '65 442) kinda look like that shot. The track,
75-80 in Monrovia Maryland was small and not-so-well lit, but MAN was it COOL!!!!! I was 7 whole years old!!!

Love that Landy story! If you haven't yet been able to get in touch with Mr. Burch, you might want to try 650 instead of 415 for the area code. Foster City switched to it in 1997.

Fools Gold 70 W31 stocker

Here is a link to a 70 w31 stocker that ran back in the day.
My brother and I saw the car at SIR in Seattle WA back in the late 70's at a NHRA national event.
There is also other pictures of Olds stocks from back in the day on this site.

There was a thread on here not too long ago about the stripe that started at the front fender and wrapped all the way around the side glass and then terminated back at the windshield. I believe it was Ted (Sammy) that was asking for pictures

I have to give my brother credit for finding the link, he just sent it to me the other day.
First thing I thought about was this uber thread.
We took pictures of the car but to find them or the negatives that is highly unlikely.
The 70 W31 looked beautiful in real life the pictures do not due the car justice.

The 68 is way cool as I'm a big fan of the 68/69 body line and drag history from the golden age.

The tow bar brackets on the Davis car are true to the humble beginnings of stock.
Could you imagine someone flat towing a stocker to day?

Ha Ha that is a good one! Now, you need a Brinks truck to even BUILD a stocker, much less campaign one! Honestly, the only modern day racing I have any interest in is the stockers and super stock cars. My current F/S '69 W-31 wouldn't even make the field, but I'm on the cutting edge of 1969 technology and I'm OK with that. My real competitive racing days are behind me, but I do love burnin' rubber and bangin' gears with my buds at nostalgia events. Great pictures; thanks and keep 'em comin'!

For example Linda Vaughn <<< Click Here

Someone above mentioned flat towing a stocker today.....I think 2 years ago the IHRA stock world champion was and still is towing his car on an open trailer that was 20 years old. He was willing to sell the whole mess for $65,000........And if you pay attention not only are there Olds stockers but they actually win some. A guy from Waldorf, MD I believe had one at the world finals last year. A stick shift stocker had a perfect run at a race already this year----on the cheap!!!!! And here I am 73 years old and my Olds is running 6.40s and even winning a little already this year-----carry on kids---LOL

My message is that the car is very much alive and well . 1 repaint in 1977. AND , I will get my camera guy to get some pictures of this beautiful 1 owner car , the next time I see him .
Just for clarification sake , the National Record was for A.H.R.A.

Does anyone have Danny Lattimore's contact information? I need a 455 rebuilt and he is the man that was recommended. Please send me a private message if you do (out of respect I don't want to spread it all over the internet)
