Best Small Block Head

IMO, you can actually do more harm than good. Tests have shown that in most cases there is little, if any, improvement.

Personally, all I ask is that if a guy disputes or diisagrees, just post a valid reason why they do so. No big deal. I disagree with Mark, Nick, and others on a regular basis. It doesn't make me right or them wrong, just our opinions. Most of those opinions are based on experience. In your case, your arguments make little sense and have very little to back them up. In this thread alone, you vehemently defend the decision to use iron heads then state that given the choice you would use Pro-Comps.

Ramrod31, You should just match the intake so that the ports are not misaligned, its ok to have the intake ports smaller than the heads but if the intake is larger the flow is disrupted and thus hinder performance, match them evenly and you can get some gains, not much but at higher rpm's it makes a difference. I would not recommend enlarging your intake more than required to match the gaskets. Thats my opinion.

i defended the use of iron heads when it makes sense. I also used my first hand experience with two diffrent set ups and 2 diffrent prices on head re building/ freshening up and performance. I didnt say procoms where bad . But on my iron heads i went all out short of porting. i could have use bbo in. valves and #8 head ex. valves But i just paid to get bigger springs and stainless valves. Again Not everyoe has to spend what i spent on iron heads But i gave the example of how much my heads cost and why i would run procomps if they had been out at the time when i did my iron heads. Thats all jim .
