I've heard Sparky's out of Milwaukee (I believe) is well respected. Plug in "Sparky's" as the key word in the Search engine of this website and you'll see commentary on that vendor.

Danny Sarvis is a member on our website (70WCars). He rebuilds Q-jets. He redid the Q-jet on my 71 98. It runs great!

When Danny Sarvis rebuilt my carburetor he just cleaned it. I'm sure he could re-coat the carburetor since he is a Q-jet guru. Just ask him about it.

i just looked up sparkys it says $295 with shipping for a single choke carb does that include plating?? how does the carb look when it comes back for $295?? if its restored than thats worth it if its just a rebuild that seems kinda high 2 me! the grand national shop in my city charges $125 for a dialed in carb rebuild but they dont plate, does any1 got pics of there sparky carbs after a rebuild???

Something to ask a rebuilder is whether or not they put in new throttle plate bushings. The throttle plate bushings wear out on Q-jets. If they aren't replaced this can cause a small air leak at idle.

Another thing that needs to be done is sealing the bottom of the fuel bowl so fuel doesn't leak out under the primary jets.

When I sent my carburetor to Danny S. he did this. I bet Sparky's does it as well. Make sure you ask before you agree to anything. It is worth knowing.
