I read that wrong. I thought you said you were playing the B52's 14 hours a day, lol.

My father did the same thing almost 60 years ago. Amazing that those planes are still around and going strong.

I am the deputy chief of safety for the 5th bomb wing.. where was your dad stationed at? too cool! I actually flew F-111-As and B1-Bs. My eye sight was getting bad so I got perm taken off flight status and moved into safety. I am actually "ejection seat qualified" and fly still as a civilian.

My father was stationed at Loring Air Force base in Maine, where I was born, and Biggs (?) in El Paso Texas where my sister was born. He started on reciprocating engines and then transitioned to jet engines as Loring was one of the first recipients of the then new B-52. I don't know his unit designation but it was under SAC.
My fathers crew held the record for swapping out the engines on a B-52 during the height of the Cold War when Gen. Lemay had them going full bore all the time. Some of his stories were down right funny and a bit scary considering the time and the world back then.

Good luck on that tube I've been looking for one for two years, only one I found the dude wanted $100 for and I told him I'd pass.

I have a '65 425 with air cleaner, but it's likely a 2-bbl and the tube may differ. Still need? Got a size or way to tell which one is right?
