Eventually you'll get the hang of it regarding the forums. To that end, create a New Thread in the Oldsmobile Parts Wanted forum with a description of the part you want, model & year. Good Luck!

Welcome.

I noticed your request for a blower switch. In 65 and 66, the AC cars got a 4 position switch. The non-AC cars got a 3 position switch. If your heater/AC problem is that the system only works on the High setting, your problem may not be the switch. It may be the resistor that switch plugs into. The resistors are very easily removed with just a 1/4” hex driver and in about 8 minutes if you know where to look. I don’t have picture handy, but in the non-AC cars, it’s on the top of the heater box above the passenger footwell. You’ll see 3 brightly colored wires running into it which represent the various fan speeds.

In case you haven’t got one yet, your next purchase should be an original 1965 2 volume Chassis Service Manual and the associated Fisher Body manual. Reprints are generally low resolution and are a distant 2nd place. Then there are CDs and digital file versions, but these usually suffer from the same terrible quality problem. These books tell you most everything you’ll want to learn about these cars in a well organized kind of way.

The first place to look for parts would be EBay. The range of years which may work in your car would be from 1963 or 1964 and definitely 1965 and 1966.

The next place to look would be a local classic car junkyard in your area, or call places like Desert Valley Auto Parts (DVAP) in AZ or French Lake Auto Parts in MN. Don’t be too surprised if they’d like sell you the entire heating/AC control as a unit. If you go that route be sure the color coded vacuum hoses are part of the deal.

Another place to look would be Oldsobsolete.com. They are pricey, but have NOS (new old stock) never-installed old car parts.

Best of luck with the 88. These are great cars and generally very reliable once someone takes the time to fix ‘em right.

Cheers
Chris

I wouldn't buy a lug nut from those thieves. They screwed me and never replied to my emails, told me publicly here on ClassicOlds to contact them and they would make it right, and then never replied to my PM's.

Housekeeping. 🧹

I moved a few posts to this new thread. Hopefully it gets more traffic.

Don't forget to look at Fusick. They specialize in Oldsmobile parts. There's no tellin' what they'll have.
