NOTE/ADD (12/18/24) - Now looking for a 1102440 alt w/a E, F, G or H month date code for a early '72 car. Can help w/interpreting date code stampings if you have something.
Thanks
I may be looking for a 1102440 37 amp Delco alternator for rebuild/resto (Oldsmobile application). Looking for a decent core and prefer a build date of late April 1972 or earlier (I can assist on date code interpretation). Not really looking for "already restored" or "already rebuilt" alternators but MAY consider them.
Be willing to send good focused/detailed pics. May need to get on the phone to discuss as well.
Nicky - No....the '72 alts were externally regulated. I'd need to check w/a customer to see if we are still looking for one of these as well but please check.
Here are some pictures of the date code. It looks like it's a 1H,12 which would be August 12 of 1971, but this alternator is on a 70 w30 and appears to be internally regulated. Let me know what you think. It has the same plug as the internally regulated alternators and no regulator on the firewall. I know that this alternator is not original to the car, I need an open face 890 for this car. Googling the alternator number, I discovered what it was and it also brought me to this thread. Upon further investigation, I discovered my theory that it's internally regulated. Brian Trick did advertise one for sale a while back that was also internally regulated, with the same part number.
