1966 442 4speed driveshaft

Looking for a driveshaft for the "green tambourine". She lost hers sometime over the past 28 years moving from place to place. Shame on her, she's always forgetting things. If anyone has the specs for one that would be helpful also. Tube length, yoke type and distance from c/L of "u" joint to "u" joint. Thanks much...

4 speeds had 60" c-c of u joints, 27 spline T350/powerglide/Muncie yoke, Saginaw u joints about 3.62" across. If you go to a late muncie, it is 1/2" longer than the early ones, and uses T400 yoke. The 59.5" 65-70 Bonneville shaft would then fit and is 1 piece, no rubber with inner and outer tubes. 4 speed cars in 66 had 1 piece shafts. I never had reason to measure the autmoaic trans stuff.

thanks alot run to rund... I'm using the stock drive line in the car, the stock motor, trans and rearend. I just misplaced the driveshaft. Can't believe a guy could lose a drive shaft, it's not like it's a fastener.... Lt. Buzzkill, I understand how you feel as a parent. I also suspect that as an American you understand the sacrifices we and our children (if we raised them properly) are willing to make for our and their country. I wish my son hadn't had to fly over Iraq just as much I wish I hadn't had to do the Viet Nam thing, but we do what we must to be free so that we can do the things we enjoy doing. Oldsmobiling be one of them...

Smile 1966 442 4speed driveshaft

I have the stock driveshaft (60" c-c on u-joints), with the yoke; the only problem is I'm at the opposite end of the country, south Florida. If interested, e-mail me: drolds1@bellsouth.net. Thanks, Bob.

is the drive shaft complete with u joints (are they good or do they need replaced?). How much do you want for it and could you check on shipping costs to zip code 92029? Thanks

Thumbs up shipment

Bob - the driveshaft arrived today and I like you're packaging. Very Nice and the driveshaft is nice too.... Gonna rip the U joints out, media blast the stick and paint her up then put it on the shelf til it's time to go in.

Thanks much - Fred on to other parts scavaging....

Thanks Fred. I'm glad the US Postal Service came through again.
