Have you checked Fusicks and Kanter?

If you need a pump because you do not have one, I would HIGHLY recommend you stay away from Kanter or Fusick. Kanter wants $142.81 plus a $64 core charge. Thats $206.81. Fusick wants $115 plus a core charge of $125. That could be the most expensive '64 pump on planet Earth. Your better off finding a crappy pump and buy a rebuild kit. That would be less than Fusicks core charge alone!

You could also replace the mechanical pump with an electric pump. That is what I did on my 64 98. The only problem is that it isn't OE.

If your car was equipped with factory A/C make sure you get an A/C pump. It should have an extra return line fitting.

Do you need a new one or a good core? AC? I have several pumps but not sure about any new in the box. Drop me a line at dead@mchsi.com if you still need one.

Thanks for all the feedback. As always, members prove to be an invaluable source of information.
I don't have the factory pump. I gave it to someone to examine it to see if it was faulty. When I looked at it, I couldn't determine if it was functioning properly. Well, now I cant get a straight answer from the mechanic. Its been months. I figured I look for another pump and save me the aggravation.
The car Im refering to is a 64 Dynamic 88 with no AC.
Deaddds, ill contact you to see if you can provide me with a pump.
Thanks all

If you can get the core back, send it to Then and Now Automotive for a rebuild. They do a great job for a reasonable price. Talk to Mike Casella. http://www.maritimedragracing.com/an...rts_cellar.htm

Go to that mechanic and get your pump back ASAP!

Chekcing to make sure a mechanical fuel pump works is as easy as taking the fuel inlet hose off of the carburetor and cranking the engine over with the coil disconnected. It should take 10 minutes not months.

Hey windycity. I have a spare that was in the trunk from my 64 88. Its pretty caked with grease and debris and i havent checked it for functionality.
Its been a few months since the last post but figured id extend the offer since i didnt see a resolution. Im guessing youre in chicago from your user name?

Those of you that did the electric pump, what did you do about the return line?
