I'm not sure if I have the parts still, but the older cars had a hollow spindle and the dust cover cap had a fitting that the speedometer cable fit into. Seems kinda bizarre to me, but that's how it worked. The cable ran from the back of the speedo head down and through the left front spindle to the dust cover. I don't think you could adapt that to a newer car. John

Amazing how fast the posts add up, I don't suppose you have a black dash for a 65 F-85 or know where I can get one? I'm looking for a reason to make a road trip to Medford.

Oldsproject, I don't think I have a good one that's extra but I'll look around. I've got a lot of spare parts, anything else your looking for? Bring your truck and maybe I could load it up! John

Hey 2blu442, you don't happen to be the fella who bought a '72 Cutlass 442 w/455rocket back in '91 from a guy in Indy? My Dad (moved to FL.) sold his to his boss at the time said his boss had moved to Oregon! Wouldn't that be ironic?

Now, some 15yrs later I need parts for my '71 Cutlass Supreme and you might have what I need! Small list, not sure if we need all or not, yet. I'm looking for a front right turn signal lense, mine has a chunk missing. Also, may need a new wonderbar radio, don't know if it works, can't figure out if it is hooked up, there is definetly a piece missing on the tuning side. Looks like it should be a small round piece of chrome (whatever is made of). We found that tuning **** under the seat, but can't seem to find the flat round piece that goes behind it! Do you have these parts?
Let me know, and if you are the guy who bought dad's car......well, that was a good buy! I just told him last week what a 442 was going for and I think he almost fainted!

Hi Peggie
Sorry, I'm not the one who bought your Dad's car. Yes, the numbers matching cars are almost worth too much money to drive now. That's the downside, I want to play with the toys not just trailer them to car shows! I do have some turn signal lenses, do you mean the one in the front bumper or the sidemarker in the front fender? Is the radio an AM radio or AM/FM? I've got some extra AM radios that we could pull parts from. I'm not sure that I have anything that works though. Do you have the ability to send me a photo of the radio and parts it needs? John

Hey John, you must be the same guy who I PM'd on the v8buick.com message board about quarter panels for my '64 F-85. Shoot me a PM and let me know the condition of the '65 sedan quarter panel you mentioned. Thanks, Tony

1965 Quarter Panel

Hi Tony, yes this is me. I just snapped some photos and am posting them on my photobucket site. Let me know if you'd like to see other views, I could take them tomorrow afternoon and the sunlight might help show the condition better. The link for that is:

http://s90.photobucket.com/albums/k257/2blu442/

I have to say I've got no idea how to get this to you . If you pulled into my driveway I'd take $250 and help you load it, but if I have to spend a saturday getting a pallet, securing it, and taking it to a shipper I would want something for my time. I'm also afraid something this large may cost twice that to ship. So... if you can figure out how to ship it without borrowing against your house I'd be open to it, but you would need to do the research. John

John, the quarter looks great in the pics. Agreed, I am at a loss on how to ship this. I've used Greyhound for fenders and hoods in the past but this has got to be 2X as big. I'll see if I can research shipping options and of course I'd pay you for your time and effort. Thanks, Tony

Didn't read every single post but:

I am looking for 71-72 hood (non-OAI and w.o the faux vents) if you have, what is your price?

Looking for #5a heads, do you still have?

I can pick up...

Hello, if you can pick it up I have a hood for $25. Last time I looked I only had a single #5 head, the mate was cracked. I do have lots of loose heads and some core engines. Anything else your looking for? John

330 flexplate

I pulled a flexplate off a 1967 330 engine in the garage but there is a bad spot in the teeth. Do you know if the 425 flexplate will interchange? John

Fan Shroud Needed

Narrowing down the 'cooling' issues. I am in need of a 425 fan shroud. Mine is missing. I believe a 66-67 'B' body (Delta, Dynamic, Holiday) shroud will fit but must be from a 425 motor car.

I'm in Eastern Washington so parts preferably from west coast (shipping) but will consider all areas.

Yes, the woodgrain inserts have a different pattern but the dash boards from 1970-72 will all interchange. John

I've got several dashes, I know I have two blue ones from a 1970 but somewhere I heard that this was a one year only shade of blue. I'll see what I can dig out and post photos for you to view. John

Hey John, sorry I haven't gotten back to you in a while, it's been a nice hot summer here near Indy so we've been doing a lot of cuising. I hope I didn't offend you with my PM earlier in the summer. I do still need the turn signal lense on the front passenger side, the one inside the front bumper? I think I saw a picture of one on your photobucket site.

We decided to forgo fixing the WonderBar radio. We ended up putting a small CD player in the glove box (Not mounted!) and running some extra speakers into the trunk. Unfortunately the remote doesn't work through the glove box, but usually I'm cruising with the family, so not too bad. We also had to replace the speaker in the dash, got lucky and found a guy a few miles away with one that fit, worked, and only cost $5!

If I remember right you have a saddle colored interior for a Vista Cruiser? Is the steering wheel the same on a '71 Cutlass Supreme? The little "silver" inlay on mine is slowly chipping away and the worst part is the little pieces that come off of it. I remember you saying '71 was the only year Olds used the saddle color?

I would love to have these items by Sept 28th as there is a car show here locally, but if not possible, I'll understand. Thanks for you patience with me.

1971 parts

Hi Olds Gal
No offense taken, my work just got insane for a while. Life seems to be calming down again, just in time for winter when it's no fun to work on projects in the driveway! Some day I'll have to clean out the garage enough to work on something inside! If you haven't found the lens yet I have one. The one year color I was thinking of was sienna, kind of a brick red/brown combination. I would call the saddle a medium brown. I have some steering wheels in both but that plastic insert is bad on most of them. Have you thought about a sport wheel? I believe the 1971 were black with an interior colored hub and horn button but the mid-70's had all different colors and I may have a saddle colored one of those. Is it important for you to have it all original? I also have a new repop set of bucket seat covers in saddle, I believe they are a 1972 pattern of stitching. I have a 1972 Cutlass that I was going to make into a 442 clone but discovered enough problems with it that I decided to dismantle it and focus rebuilding other projects. Let me know what you still need and I'll dig around to see what I have. John

Hey John
It wouldn't have mattered if I had the parts before the show I went to last weekend anyway, I felt a little out classed! We're talking a small local show with no prize money and there were cars there that blew me away. I thought my engine compartment was clean, but some of those were chrome!
You were right about the interior color, we've checked the codes. It's pretty bad when a girl doesn't know one color from another, isn't it? Anyway, we are trying to keep the car original, however, if the sport wheel was an "option" on the '71 then that might work. I'll have to speak with the "manager" of the car first and maybe do some research. Our work is sorta kinda picking up, not enough, though. So I may need to wait until the weekend to find out all I need. I DO still need the turn signal lense. I found a set of them on another thread, but I really only need one. By the way, how much for it? I will get back to you about the sport wheel.
Thanks, Peggie

Missing two hub caps lost on highway 81 for a 69 Delta 88, have any of those? Is it true that olds used 3 different styles for that year?

Hey Matt, sorry I don't have the 1967 442 parts you need.

I also don't have an extra set of side scoops for the 1965 442. On ebay there is somone selling repop ones, I don't know the quality but I've seen his auctions.

I've got 1968 hubcaps but doubt I've got the 1969. If you would provide a link for a photo I'll try to double check this weekend. John
