When I input the information from the cowl tag below into the online tool at http://datatagdecoder.com
I'm not finding a color option for this paint code. When looking at the car itself, it appears to be either burnished brown or sable in color but I don't find either of those as an option for a 1970 442 in the online decoder (even though these appear to have been color options in 1969) or in the 1970 paint color charts that I've found online. Could this car have been ordered from the factory in either of these colors in 1970? Can anyone shed some light on this mystery for me? Thanks in advance!
initially I thought it could be the way "special order" Cadillac Firemist colors may have been spec'd at the Linden, NJ plant, but they all have "WA" numbers (which were used for the Olds specific "special colors") so why not use those ????
