Trunk splater paint question

I bought the paint from Eastwood and got it put on this weekend, turned out great but I sprayed it over DP90 black primer.
Anyway can says, I should put the clear over it......Do I really need too? has anyone else used this and not put the clear over it? it is Zollitone in a shaker can.
They surly didn't put clear over it from the factory.

Hey AJ , that splatter paint is basically water base so the clear seals it. if you have no clear and it gets wet it will soften and come off.
I would def clear just go lightly. the factory one was not cleared but also wasn't water base. Good Luck

He meant DEFINITELY clear coat it. As mentioned, it is water based and will be ruined if it get's wet. It also scratches fairly easily, and the clear protects it. I put at least 2 full coats of clear flat over mine (after having to re-paint an area that had gotten wet before I 'clear coated' it).

It is SPATTER not splatter. I wonder why so many people in our hobby get this wrong?
