Non W-30 pinstripes.

My 1970 442 (Non-W30) is just about done being painted and the pinstripes are going on next. I bought a stencil kit for Phoenix Graphics so I am about 95% there. What I could use are some pics of the end points, the fender, quarter panel, and the trunk lid, etc. The manual has that info but it a bit hard to decipher. I just want it to be right so pics would be appreciated.

thanks, kcd

HEY There

My car is a 1972 442 NOT W30. I asked for help like you are now and members sent pics of some factory paint cars stripes. The guy who hand painted the stripes on my car used them for a reference. If you would like I can take pictures of them with measurements

All the best

Just an FYI for original post, the stripes on the 70 442 are different than the 71/72 models.

Here's my 70 convertible post-paint/stripes in standard 442 setup(non-W-30) used templates purchased and my paint guy had some work to do to have side stripes line up correctly. Hope this helps.

Here is my car, when I bought it. It had never been repainted.

Look Troy, TWINS! Can't wait to see it done

Re the Phoenix stencil - my guy used them but said they were a PITA. He air brushed the side stripes on after the car was buffed. He said they didn't adhere to the contour of the car too well. End product is nice but they took some time

My guy said the same thing on the stripes. He laid mine down first, and used the stencil to paint over with the blue. He noted he had to cut the stencil in a couple of places, and tape it by hand.

Should have been twins, but I elected not to do the vinyl top and add the wing. Yours is pretty snazzy with the top though.

The FSM has the dimensions. I had a local pinstriper do mine from the factory drawing.

No stencils used.

Thx. I'm not really a vinyl top guy but mine was in really good shape and my paint job was an unplanned expense after a garage mishap so I didn't want to make it more expensive by taking the top off. I thought about the wing but didn't think it looked good with the vinyl top.
For me the hood was a must have. I love it.

That blue is probably my favorite color, on a car and otherwise.

Does anyone know this color’s name and paint code? This must be a factory color if the car was never repainted, correct?

Tim,

The color is Twilight Blue Poly. Paint code 28. The pics after the paint was a really good match.
