Talking 70 cutlass 455 paint for air cleaner

I need the details for paint for my air cleaner, I can't seem to find the right gloss. I would like to get it professionally done by a paint shop.

I've used the semi-gloss black spray paint available at the loacal auto parts store with great success on air cleaners and brackets.

Bummer!

I think you can get "OE" paint from suppliers like Fusicks and Year One.

Get some 60% gloss eggshell finish black, or if you can find it, GM itself used to supply "Reconditioning Black" for used car department detailing use. I think it came in both 30% and 60% gloss, but it also came in gallon cans which might complicate things if all you need is enough to paint an aircleaner.

In spray bombs, Krylon Satin Black sprayed thin is a very close match and would satisfy all but the most **** of car show judges.

There's bound to be a body & paint supply in Richmond area who can mix you up a spray bomb or two of 60% gloss black.

I have spoken to them, they said they can mix anything they just needed the formula... Does anybody know the percentage of gloss in semi-gloss?

Have you tried SEM spray paint? They have lots of colors for trim on cars we use there paint for small things in our shop. Getting it done in a body shop would be expensive and they would be guessing at how shinny.

Original air cleaner paint was a lot glossier than many people use today ....
