I'm not sure if this would be wanted or needed but if anyone is interested I can put a little tutorial together on how to rebuild/ restore a vintage auto water cooler. I took a bunch of pictures when I rebuilt mine and this may interest a few of the vintage guys doubtful many A body guys will be installing these on their 442's but they have there place on the old iron.

Not to date myself but I remember driving across the southwestern deserts in the 60's with one of those hanging off the window on my family's new '57 ford wagon.
I left that one in the attic when I sold my moms house.
They must be really rare!
When even the cheesiest econobox you can buy today has A/C how many remember this?

 

I remember them but we never had a car with one on it. These were popular about the same time water bags were popular.

 

I had my 10 year old son at a car show, there was a pickup there with one of those units on it. He got such a kick out it when I told him it was the a/c.

Remember the "cash for Clunkers" program?
I considered giving up the Man Van for $5k towards a new car.
The only one I could afford maybe even with that was a Hyundai with no AC and no power anything. The ones with AC started at $18k. And they were not inclined to bargain.

I stuck with the Man Van. $200 a month will buy a lot of gas.
