stalling issue

I have a 1976 Cutlass with a 260. After driving, I'll go to back it in to a parking spot and it stalls everytime. I took the a/c belt off because the compressor is bad. That wasn't it. Had my carb rebuilt, but that did nothing as well. I'm at a loss.
The newer cars have a cut off switch, does a 76 have one? I would guess not, but not sure.

Does it stall in reverse only? Try putting it into neutral and then back into drive instead of reverse to see if it stalls.

Is the stalling very sudden/abrupt or does it give some warning and stall over a few seconds?

This would not be reverse only but the EGR valve could be sticking open causing a vacuum leak.

Cut-off switch...no, not equipped.

Good luck!!!

No warning, can I plug the vacuum hose going to the egr? Would that help?

Sounds like it probably needs a tuneup.
